MBK Center Bangkok

MBK Center (มาบุญครอง) is one of Bangkok's most iconic and beloved shopping destinations — a sprawling 8-floor, 2,000-stall retail maze at the Pathumwan intersection, directly connected to the National Stadium BTS Skytrain station. Originally opened in 1985, MBK remains a rite of passage for first-time visitors to Bangkok and a firm favourite for bargain hunters from around the world. The mall is particularly famous for its electronics and mobile phone zone on floors 3 and 4, where hundreds of stalls sell new and second-hand smartphones, accessories, cases, cables, and gadgets at prices far below retail. It is also the go-to destination for affordable fashion, Thai souvenirs, bags, sportswear (branded and copy), jewellery, watches, and traditional Thai handicrafts. Floors 5 and 6 house a large cinema complex (SF Cinema), a bowling alley, an indoor go-kart track, and one of Bangkok's most popular food courts — the MBK Food Island on the 6th floor — offering over 100 stalls of authentic Thai food, Japanese cuisine, Chinese dishes, and international fast food at very affordable prices (฿50–200 per dish). Tokens are purchased at the entrance for use at any stall. Other highlights include a large supermarket on the lower floors, a currency exchange, pharmacies, and a salon zone. MBK is directly connected to Siam Paragon and Siam Square via a covered walkway, making it easy to combine with a full Siam shopping day. Entry is completely free.
