Wat Huay Mongkol Temple

Wat Huay Mongkol is one of the most important religious sites near Hua Hin, famous for housing the largest statue of the revered monk Luang Phor Thuad in Thailand. The monk, who lived in the 17th century, is one of Thailand's most beloved spiritual figures, credited with miraculous acts including turning seawater fresh. The temple complex features the enormous seated statue of Luang Phor Thuad as its centrepiece, surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and smaller shrines. Thai Buddhists travel from across the country to make offerings and seek blessings here. The temple is set in tranquil countryside 15km from Hua Hin and offers a deeply authentic and moving spiritual experience.
