Viharn Sien Chinese Temple

Viharn Sien is a magnificent Chinese-style temple and museum located behind Wat Yansangwararam in Pattaya. The complex houses a breathtaking collection of over 3,000 bronze statues, artworks, and cultural artefacts — all imported directly from China. The centrepiece of the collection is a stunning 9-metre tall bronze statue of Guan Yu (the God of War), flanked by rows of Confucius statues and mythological figures. Other highlights include an ornate replica of the Dragon Throne, hundreds of terracotta warriors similar to the famous Xi'an army, and intricate carvings depicting scenes from Chinese history and folklore. The architecture of the buildings themselves is spectacular, featuring traditional Chinese temple design with elaborate roof carvings and red-gold colour schemes. It's a profoundly educational and beautiful cultural experience.
