James Bond Island, officially named Koh Tapu, is one of Phuket's most recognizable landmarks and one of Thailand's most photographed spots. The jagged limestone pillar that juts dramatically from Phang Nga Bay's emerald waters was made globally famous as the villain's lair in the 1974 James Bond film 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. The full-day tour typically includes a long-tail boat or speedboat ride through the stunning karst scenery of Phang Nga Bay, sea kayaking through hidden sea caves and mangroves, a visit to a floating Muslim fishing village (Koh Panyee), and of course the iconic photo stop at James Bond Island itself. The bay's 42 islands create a surreal landscape that has earned it comparisons to Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.
