🏛️ ABOUT THE TOUR Chiang Mai's Old City (Mueang Kao) is a near-perfect square surrounded by a historic moat and city walls, founded in 1296 AD. Inside lie over 30 ancient temples representing the golden era of the Lanna Kingdom. This expert-guided 4-hour walking tour covers the city's three most important and revered temples.
- Wat Chedi Luang – Chiang Mai's most iconic ancient temple, built in the 14th century. Its great chedi (stupa) once stood 82 metres tall — the tallest structure in the kingdom. Home to the famous City Pillar Shrine.
- Wat Phra Singh – The most venerated temple in Chiang Mai, housing the revered Phra Singh Buddha image. Dating to 1345 AD, featuring stunning Lanna-style architecture and intricate murals.
- Wat Chiang Man – The oldest temple in Chiang Mai (1297 AD), built by King Mengrai himself. Houses two important Buddha relics: Phra Sila and Phra Satang Man.
- Three Kings Monument – The historic centre of Chiang Mai, surrounded by the old administrative quarter.
