🏔️ ABOUT DOI INTHANON Doi Inthanon is Thailand's highest mountain at 2,565 metres above sea level, located about 80km southwest of Chiang Mai. Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the national park covers 482 sq km of lush forest and is home to over 380 bird species — making it Thailand's premier birdwatching and nature destination. Even in Thailand's hot season (March–May), the summit can drop to 5–10°C — bring a jacket!
- Doi Inthanon Summit (2,565m) – Thailand's highest point. Walk to the summit marker through misty cloud forest. Cool temperatures year-round.
- Twin Royal Chedis – Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon & Naphaphonphumisiri, built to honour King Bhumibol & Queen Sirikit. Set in magnificent landscaped gardens with hill tribe flowers and walking paths.
- Wachirathan Waterfall – The most powerful waterfall in northern Thailand, with an 80m drop. Most impressive in the rainy season.
- Mae Klang Waterfall – A wide, multi-tiered waterfall near the park entrance. Great for swimming.
- Sirithan Waterfall – Viewable from a platform, cascading through dense forest.
- Karen Hill Tribe Village – Visit a local Pgak'nyau (Karen) village and browse handwoven textiles and traditional crafts.
- Ang Ka Nature Trail – A short boardwalk trail through mystical cloud forest at the summit, filled with rare mosses, orchids and rhododendrons.
